Our story

Hello, I am Sofía.

I learned to knit when I was 11 years old. I have always been passionate about handmade art and the magic of bringing ideas to life with our own hands. However, it wasn’t until five years ago, when I became pregnant with my beautiful daughter, Alegría, that I truly dedicated myself to knitting. She was my greatest inspiration for my first creations, and my love for plants also played a key role in my journey. That’s how I started making plant hangers, which became one of my first products.

I still remember my very first market four years ago just me, a single table, and a small setup. I was filled with nerves, unsure if people would like my work, but I held onto the excitement and hope that everything would turn out well.

It went far better than I had imagined! My products quickly gained high demand, and the response from the public was incredibly positive.

My mother has been an essential part of this journey, helping with both production and coordination, without her, Native Crochet wouldn’t be what it is today. My aunt Ofelia has also played a crucial role in crafting our pieces. Today, we are a team of five, working together to grow this beautiful, family-run business, where everything is made entirely by hand.
